I judged a high school bbq competition once. A lot of competition style bbq (expected) but a lot of interesting spice blends on the ribs and in the chilis. Overall, pretty fun experience.

Nice! My 9yo son likes to help me BBQ, he gets the big green egg setup and lit for me and helps prep the food. I’m so glad my mom taught me how to cook growing up and doing the same for my kids now.

This has GOT to be that new school in Prosper. School has a damn cosmetology class complete with freakin stations. It looks like a professional salon. They have a fully furnished restaurant kitchen, for students. MULTIPLE, FULL weight rooms. MULTIPLE indoor courts. A full robotics lab.
Damn. Wish my school had a freakin BBQ class. I’d have been set!

I met a high school BBQ team while waiting in line at Goldee’s, I was so jealous. I wish my high school had a program like that. The Goldee’s people were super cool and showed them all the behind the scenes stuff. The kids were geeking out and couldn’t stop talking about BBQ. It’s really cool that OP gets to enjoy this with his daughter, as a new dad I can’t wait to have an opportunity like this.
